FlightGest Adds 2013 Cirrus SR20 to Fleet

Cirrus SR20 FlightGest Adds SR20!

FlightGest is pleased to announce the addition of a 2013 Cirrus SR20 to its fleet!

The sleek Cirrus SR20 composite aircraft is a jaw-dropper with Cirrus Perspective Avionics (Garmin), keyboard controller, 10 inch screens, GFC 700 digital autopilot featuring the Blue level button, electronic stability and protection (ESP), over-speed and under speed protection, IAS climbs, VNAV descents, altitude pre-select, fully coupled autopilot go-around, Garmin synthetic vision, chart view and safe taxi.

Not enough? It also has air conditioning, dual AHRS,  XM weather/music, ADS-B, Dual WAAS GPS and unique 60/40 flex seating with 3 passenger capability in rear seat. (We tried to find one with a kitchen sink or Jacuzzi, but the impact to weight and balance was not worth it!)

Besides its ramp appeal, the Cirrus SR20 has a few unique features including great visibility, higher airspeeds, spacious panel (side yolk really opens it up), parachute system and roomy cabin.

The Cirrus SR20 will be available in just a few days (June 1) for training, checkout and rental. In addition, an SR20 panel will be added to our our FAA-approved simulator in a few weeks, and it will be added to our nationally-recognized  and underwriter-approved Part 141 program for pilot initial/refresher training.

FlightGest Offers Free IFR Operations Course In August

FlightGest is pleased to announce a series of free IFR Operations “short courses”, beginning Thursday, August 7.

Instrument flying requires precision, attention to detail, and sound decision making. The ability to operate in conditions less than VFR greatly increases the practicality of GA aircraft but also introduces new elements of risk. Join us as we discuss key topics for IFR operations and examine them from a risk management perspective.

The IFR Operations short course will run 4 weeks, meeting every Thursday evening from 6:30 – 8:00 at FlightGest, located at the Raleigh-Durham International Airport. Current or prospective instrument rated pilots are welcome to attend. Learn from seasoned staff members and each other as we address critical topics from a different viewpoint.

Course Schedule:

  • Week 1 (Aug 7) – Intro. to IFR, Review of Regulations
  • Week 2 (Aug 14) – Weather for IFR Operations
  • Week 3 (Aug 21) – Instrument Approaches
  • Week 4 (Aug 28) – Instrument Flight Planning with Scenario-Based Examples

The courses are free, but participants must confirm attendance at info@flightgest.com so that adequate seating can be provided.
